Drive system

The small hoist machine and inverter are located in the overhead, saving more space than previous drive systems, and making a separate machine room and control closet unnecessary. The machine is economical in energy consumption and creates minimal noise due to the material of the STM.

Suspension Traction Media (STM)

The STM consists of metal cables sheathed in a non-circular EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) jacket. They replace conventional steel cables, weigh less, require less space and run quieter. Thanks to the STM, there is room for the machine and drive directly in the elevator hoistway, which allows hydraulic-sized shafts to be utilized.

Inspection and test panel

The inspection and test panel for the control is built directly into a standard door frame at the top landing, simplifying installation, providing practical handling and saving space.

Doors

Doors are equipped with a closed-loop, frequency-controlled drive for fast and reliable operations. Two-speed side-opening doors, opening to the left or right, are available as well as single-speed center-opening doors. When the elevator is not in use power is removed from the door operator. This standby mode saves energy and contributes to extended component life.

Cab

Technology does not take up much space in the Schindler 3300. So it can be fitted to hydraulic elevator-sized shafts and still offer up to a 5% larger cab interior.
