Shunt Trip Protection

Heat detectors in the hoistway signal that sprinkler discharge is imminent. The elevator’s main power shunt breaker will trip and stop the elevator car wherever it is, even between floors, so that it will not malfunction when the sprinkler discharges.

Counterweight

Side counterweight is more cost efficient, faster, and requires less building interface and structural requirements.

Please contact your local Schindler Representative if occupied space below the hoistway. A safety gear on the cwt will be required and the hoistway will require additional space.

Clear Opening

The side-to-side and front-to-back dimension that is needed for the elevator to fit in the hoistway.

Overhead

OverheadClear overhead is defined as the lowest point below the roof structure.  It’s measured to the bottom of the hoist beam. All dimensions are based on 8’ tall cabs. 9’ and 10’ heights are also available. Overhead will increase 12” for each additional foot of cab height.
